A Call To Business

You might be like me and ask, “What is God’s direction for my life?  How does He want me to expand His Kingdom on the earth?  How does God want me to reach others for Him?” The marketplace is where He is giving me access to hungry, hurting people.

God:  “Pam, I have people in the world that need a touch from Me.  Are you willing to go?”

Pam:  ”Yes. Where?”

God:  “When you go to your business, I will lead you to those who need you to talk to them. Be friendly. Listen to them. Ask Me what I want you to do. Ask them if you can pray with them. Lead them to sources to help them.”

“Just as You sent Me into the world, I also sent them into the world.” John 17:18 NASB

Yes, I needed courage and many times strength when I was weary.  God is so faithful!  There are so many needs. I am sometimes overwhelmed but I am not the source.  GOD IS!  My job is to step out. Little obedient steps have made the business into an access point for God to so many people. God wants me to step out with bravery to reach others for Him.

Pam, be faithful in the little things.

“and if you give what you have to the hungry, and fill the needs of those who suffer, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your darkness will be like the brightest time of day.”

Isaiah 58:10

Every day is a miracle opportunity.

A single mom who had an autistic son came into the laundromat.  She told me her story.  Her son needed a school and transportation to get him there.  She needed work, a car, new place to live in the near future and a multitude of things.  She was at a breaking point.  God led me to ask her if I could pray for her to have answers and connections with the right people to get the best help for her son and her other needs. I was able to tell her about a friend of mine who was a bus driver for special needs students. I wondered if he would eventually be her son’s bus driver. She was so encouraged!

Three years later, I ran into the same lady again at the laundromat.  She came right up to me and said, ”Do you remember me?”  I have met a lot of people so she had to refresh my memory.  “You prayed with me and my son. That day everything changed!  My son is in the right school with bus service and we have a new place to live.” A prayer was the starting point for the lady and her son to be connected. The body of Christ in action where everyone has a role.

Another day, a lady was putting her clothes in the washer and needed instruction as to how the machines worked. Ah, an access point to ask her about her life.  She eventually told me she was homeless and was wondering where to go next.  I wrote down names of services in a nearby town and told her how to get transportation on the bus to get there. THEN I asked if I could pray with her.  Her response after our prayer was ”There is sunshine in here.” I said, “Yes SONshine.”  We hugged and she was on her way.  God was shining on her situation.  I have not seen her again but I know that she came in for a brief moment in her life so I could bring Jesus’ love to her.  I wonder who will be the next person she would come in contact with so she can draw closer to God.  Did you meet her?  Were you one of the steps to help her draw closer to God?

God is so faithful.  That being said, I want to step out with the courage from Holy Spirit to be available for the person that God is bringing into my life.  Customers, service people and community members are ready for someone to listen to them, pray with them and possibly point them to resources. This is how God’s kingdom grows.

God led me to own laundromats because it is one of the ways He wants me to reach people for Him.  It was not my original plan but God had a plan. Yes, some days I am tired and busy but God is the one who sustains me to give to another.  Where does God want us to be His “SONshine”?

God’s plans are so much grander than we can imagine.  He has a hope and a future to bless you. Dream big with God.  He has dreams and visions for your life.  How can you pursue those dreams and visions?

Would you like Signet Ministries to pray with you for God’s direction for your business, work, family?  Can we come alongside you and meet with you?  God has a plan for you.

“I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out - plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. When you call on Me, when you come and pray to Me, I'll listen.”

Jeremiah 29:11-12 AMP
