Seeing In The Dark

Recently, I entered a season of darkness... one full of unknowns.

Although I didn't feel any different physically, I was faced with a medical report showing evidence of disease that seemed irrefutable. Thankfully, although I was shell-shocked at first, I remembered that God's Word says He will never leave me or forsake me (Heb. 13:5). So I held onto that truth...while also being in a bit of a wrestle with my faith.

Wake up

Have you ever had a difficult time waking up when it is still dark outside?

It can be hard to focus, clear the foggy thinking, find the motivation to rise up, and find your way through the darkness without a light.

The sudden cloud of darkness of the report, made me FEEL far away from God. Then I recalled the death of a close family member last year, though I was sure God could save her. Little did I know....that buried seed of disappointment,  not brought to the Lord's feet, had rooted and sprouted, and was now hindering my own faith.

I found myself struggling... my faith now seemed weak and stifled...as if I was asleep, unable to snap out of it.

In this dark place, I was reminded of the story of Jacob wrestling with the angel of the Lord (God) all night (Genesis 32). Although there is no darkness in God; according to Ps. 18:11 "He made darkness his covering, His canopy around Him"

Here I was, wrestling...

Is this Your plan for me?

For my family?

Now?

Why did my family member die, when we had believed and prayed?

It FEELS to me like You lied Lord...but since I know You CAN'T lie, will You please forgive me for being offended at You, and heal the wound in my heart from my disappointment?

Jacob never overcame the angel, but he was allowed enough space to question, to wrestle, while the answers, and daylight, were just out of reach.  When morning came and the wrestling had stopped, breakthrough came. Jacob found that the Lord had been holding him the whole time, like a good Father letting him wrestle it out.

Your Word says that You chose me! (Eph. 1:4)

I know You are with me through this valley (Psalm 23).

In fact, though I've been shaken by this news, it's in this place of humility and weakness, that You are doing the necessary "heart surgery".   I yield myself to You.

Proverbs 3:5-6  (TPT) is such a comforting and familiar verse,

"Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on Him to guide you, and He will lead you in every decision you make."

Faith is ACTION based on the truth of God's character and promises, NOT a feeling.

I "PUT" my trust in the One who demonstrated His love through the cross, and His promises to us.

He's always with me.

Although I can't see into the future, He can.

Maybe you aren't facing a health concern, but you feel you're in the dark about something?

A big decision looming?

A fork in the road?

Which is the right way to go?

Maybe you too have begun to wrestle.

Is there a past disappointment that you haven't been really honest with God about?

He is with you in the darkness, grab hold of Him and don't let go!

He's the Way you're searching for, the Truth you're looking for, and the source of Life itself. (John 14:6)

We, at Signet Solutions, are familiar with real life concerns, and would be honored to pray with you to find peace and breakthrough.
